A Swissploitation Film
An exploitation genre mash-up with a Swiss twist – or the very first Swissploitation film.
Swissploitation is a persiflage of Heimatfilm (which translates to Homeland Films), a film genre that was popular in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, from the late 1940s to the early 1970s.
Heimatfilms were often shot in the Alps, and always involved the outdoors. Their characteristics were their rural settings and sentimental tone, and they centered on love, friendship, family and non-urban life. They also involved the difference between old and young, and tradition and progress.
In MAD HEIDI, we take a classic Heimatfilm setting and give it a genre twist to create the first Swissploitation film. Not only Swiss clichés are exploited, but also clichés from the Action-Adventure and Horror genres, to ultimately create a new exploitation film genre never seen before.
To create a feeling of the romantic Heimatfilm genre of the 50s and 60s, the film is kept in an organic retro look, but with a slightly modern twist to suit the taste of a contemporary audience.

Production and Distribution
The streamers like Netflix and Amazon are putting heavy pressure on the independent film business. Less and less people watch movies in cinemas and especially for independent films it becomes increasingly difficult to find an audience. But what’s widely considered a threat can also be a chance. This is why we developed a concept that we call fan-powered content creation. It’s all about how we can reinvent the way films are made in order to have a better position in the market. The key to it all are the fans. They can participate in the making. The multiply our marketing. They can invest and share in the revenue.
Also in distribution MAD HEIDI goes new ways. We won’t have a sales company nor a distributor. We will mainly distribute the film through our own platform, a little bit
like the streamers. This will increase profits for investors up to 6 times. Check out madinvest.co for more details.
Assuming that the pandemic has finally let its grip off our planet, MAD HEIDI will be shot in Fall 2021 and released in 2022.
The film is produced by industry veterans Valentin Greutert (ONE WAY TRIP, PARADISE WAR-THE STORY OF BRUNO MANSER) and Tero Kaukomaa (IRON SKY; DANCER IN THE DARK) and directed by highly talented, up-and-coming director Johannes Hartmann. The three have made it their mission to break new ground in film financing, production and distribution, creating new opportunities for small, independent film companies and pointing a way to the future.
